Not having True Tone or seeing the "Unknown Part" notice does not affect how the screen works. Both are optional with the Economy and Premium screens: with a pre-programmed chip, or by transferring the chip from your original screen with microsoldering, True Tone works and the notice does not appear. This adds cost and repair time. For more detail, read our guide to OLED vs LCD replacement screens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment for iPhone screen repair?

No appointment is required. You can walk into our repair shop in Hialeah during business hours. If you prefer, call (786) 589-3441 first to ask about availability, timing, and a personalized quote for your iPhone.

What are the signs my iPhone screen needs professional repair instead of a case fix?

Cracked glass, dead spots that don't respond to touch, discoloration, or lines across the display all point to a screen that needs replacing. A cracked screen can also let in dust and moisture, so it's worth having it checked even if the display still works.

Will a screen repair affect Face ID, fingerprint, or other sensors on my iPhone?

Genuine repairs are done carefully to keep sensors, cameras, and speakers working as they should. If a specific sensor is a known risk for your exact model, we flag it during diagnosis before starting, not after.

Do you replace just the glass or the full display assembly on a iPhone?

Most modern devices need the full display assembly replaced, since the glass is fused to the screen underneath. We confirm which type of repair your specific model needs during the initial inspection.

Will my iPhone keep its 120Hz ProMotion display?

Yes. Every screen we install matches your iPhone's original refresh rate. ProMotion models get a 120Hz screen in both the Economy and Premium options, at no extra cost.

Will my iPhone show an "Unknown Part" message?

With the Economy and Premium screens, iOS usually shows an "Unknown Part" notice in Settings. It does not affect how the screen works. If you prefer to avoid it, choose our Premium No-Warning screen or a Genuine Apple screen, or add a pre-programmed chip or a chip transfer from your original screen (microsoldering) to the Economy or Premium screen. The notice will not appear, but it adds cost and repair time.

Will True Tone work after the repair?

True Tone comes with the Premium No-Warning screen and with Genuine Apple screens (new or pull). With the Economy and Premium screens it is optional: we can enable it with a pre-programmed chip or by transferring the chip from your original screen, which adds cost and repair time. Without it, the screen works normally.

Why don't you use Hard OLED screens?

Hard OLED screens are more fragile, and they cost only a little less than Soft OLED. We use Soft OLED for our Premium option because it is more durable and its colors and brightness are very close to the original.

Can I get a genuine Apple screen?

Yes. We offer genuine Apple screens, new or pull, by special order. Availability depends on your iPhone model, so ask us and we will check.

Can a screen repair be done if my iPhone also has other damage?

Yes. If there's additional damage such as a bent frame or water exposure, we check for it during diagnosis and let you know how it affects the repair before any work begins.

Does iPhone screen repair come with a warranty?

Yes. Every repair at Star Phone Fix includes a 90-day warranty that covers the parts we replace and the labor of that repair under normal use. It does not cover new accidental damage, liquid damage after pickup, or software issues unrelated to the repair.
